OUR DESIGN PROCESS

1

INSPIRATION

Gather inspiration and define the project's direction. Research similar designs, explore different aesthetics, and consider the target audience.

Colorful illustration of two cartoon characters sitting on a bed surrounded by stars, books, and toys in a vibrant, playful room.

2

CONCEPT

Create multiple design concepts with different styles and approaches. Experiment with typography, composition, and visual elements to explore diverse possibilities and find the most promising direction.

Illustrations of a teddy bear, headphones, a speech bubble with "i'm that guy," a laptop, a pennant with "Berkeley," a sweater with "Berkeley" and a teddy bear, and a squirrel.

3

Feedback

We select the strongest concept based on feedback and refine it through multiple rounds of critique and make adjustments to improve the design while maintaining the core creative vision

Illustration featuring a teddy bear, headphones, a sweater with a bear emblem, an open laptop, and a web browser window with an OK and cancel button, all on a blue background.

4

Finalization

Complete the final design with attention to all details including format specifications, color accuracy, and application requirements. Prepare the design for its intended medium, whether digital platforms or physical products like apparel.

Collage featuring a teddy bear, headphones, iced coffee, student ID, Berkeley pennant, laptop, sweater with bear design, and browser pop-ups on a blue grid background.

Watershed Project

The Watershed Project empowers Bay Area communities to protect and restore local watersheds through hands-on education, restoration, and advocacy. For over 20 years, they’ve built climate resilience and supported biodiversity by engaging thousands in creek restoration, green infrastructure, and environmental stewardship.

Events

Group of five people posing with shovels and rakes in front of a large pile of mulch in a park. They are smiling, wearing casual outdoor clothing, with trees and greenery in the background.

The Bioswale Event

The Bioswale event was a volunteering event, where our members had the opportunity to go to our partner organization’s (The Watershed) bioswales. Bioswales are channels that work naturally to filter and clean water before it enters the watersheds. Our team had the opportunity to plant about 150 native plants and worked on landscaping and weeding. Overall we had a fantastic time connecting with nature and our local community.

Discounted Bins Event

Outdoor stall with three people and a table displaying items like t-shirts and stickers for sale, marked with prices. The tablecloth reads "Ethical Apparel."

From March 3rd to 14th, we tabled on Mondays and Thursdays with three different discount bins ranging from $1.50, $3, and $5. We had a variety of T-Shirts that were discounted for five dollars, sticker packs for three dollars, and $1.50 for single stickers.

Upcoming: Lawrence Hall of Science Earth Day Tabling

Children playing on a path made of large wooden logs in a garden setting.

On April 27th, we will be tabling at the Lawrence Hall of Science! Specifically, we will have an educational-focused tabling highlighting the importance of natural filtration in urban areas. We will also be including an interactive activity for the children attending. We hope to see you there!
